The last paragraph on page 228, begins as follows in the original printed version:
“It is notable, in this regard, that in the period of sixty-four years, from Marshall’s ruling in McCulloch vs. Maryland in 1803, to the Court’s opinion in Ex Parte Garland in 1867, only four acts of Congress were held unconstitutional.”
It is almost certain that Marbury vs. Madison was intended here rather than the McCulloch case which was decided in 1819. This has been changed in the online version.
We also noted three court cases in the text or footnotes that were not included in the original Table of Cases which we have added in brackets.
Apart from these instances, (and possible transcription errors), the text has been preserved exactly as in the original.
